HSUS Turn In A Breeder Program

Breeders, BEWARE. Yep, I'm talking to ALL breeders...especially those that have their heads buried in the sand thinking they are above reproach...The HSUS is taking names and they want YOU. (yes, that includes the hobby/show breeders too), courtesy of their "Pet Seller Complaint Form".

BEWARE: If you sell someone a puppy and for whatever reason that person is not happy with their new little fluffy bundle of joy, YOU can be turned in to the HSUS!!! Yes, folks, the HSUS has now appointed themselves "breeder watchdogs"...All a person has to do is download the 6 page form (count 'em **6** pages of forms), fill them out with their name and contact information and supply the BREEDER'S contact information, then submit copies of the packet (with all contracts, registration, medical records, etc) to the following:
Once this form is complete and additional documents have been attached make six copies of your packet. - Send one copy to Puppy Mills, The Humane Society of the United States, 2100 L Street NW, Washington, DC 20037.
- Send one copy to the Department of Agriculture in the state in which the breeder does business.
- Send one copy each to the Attorney General of the state in which the breeder resides and to the Attorney General in your state.
- Save one copy and all originals for your records.

Folks, it is this simple: The HSUS is NOT a government agency. The HSUS is NOT a law firm. The HSUS is NOT a law enforcement agency nor does it have enforcement powers. What the HSUS is, in fact, is a multi mega dollar Animal Rights group out to destroy dog breeders, the fur trade, the meat and dairy industry, and would LOVE nothing more than to see America become a land of tofu munching vegans.

Does this description sound familiar? It should. The HSUS has the SAME agenda as their Animal Rights cousin, PeTA. However, the HSUS has chosen to disguise themselves as a "animal protection agency" dressed in thousand dollar suits and driving Jaguars.

So, before any of you write and say, "I'm a responsible breeder and I guarantee all of my puppies and I only breed to better the breed"...You are not immune. Most people that I know have a website with their contact information listed (or even if you don't, it is VERY easy to get by anyone). The website may be nothing more than a way to show off your show wins, your stud dog, etc. Just a site of general information for potential puppy buyers. Let's say that one night a Animal Rights foot-soldier is cruising the 'net and stumbles onto your site. Maybe they don't like the fact that you show dogs, maybe they don't like the breed of dog(s) that you own, maybe they don't like the fact that you are a breeder period.

So the AR zealot decides to turn you in to the HSUS...even though this person has never met you, much less bought a puppy from you. BAM! All of your information is now in the hands of the enemy...the group that is working THIS YEAR to bring down "the rest of us" with the introduction of the PUPS bill in congress.

My best advice: protect yourselves. Don't post personal contact information on your website. Be extra careful of AR lunatics posing as "puppy buyers". And most importantly: DO NOT SIGN AWAY YOUR DOGS and DO NOT let any "humane" officer onto your property without a WARRANT. (Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer, nor do I play one on t.v., if you need legal advice contact an attorney to find out what laws are in your state)

For more information on what to do (and what NOT to do) when Animal Control Comes Knockin' on your door, please see "How To Respond to Anti-Dog Enforcement" and "A Dog Owner's Rights" on the American Dog Owners Association website.

This is not good. Not for any breeder. If a puppy buyer is mad enough, or feels they have been "scammed" , YOU can now be "turned in"...but what makes this so terrifying is that the HSUS will have ALL of YOUR information. Pretty handy information for an Animal Rights group to have laying around, huh? To be used for WHATEVER purpose they see fit: RAIDS, comes to mind. Especially if you have "pit bulls" (which the HSUS loves to see killed at every opportunity) or breeds of dogs that are in high demand from the public.

What would YOU do if the HSUS came-a-knockin' on your door? Would you let them in?

Would you fall victim to their coersion tactics of signing over your dogs so "it won't be as hard on you later"? What would you do? Do you know what YOUR rights are?

  2. Robin, I have a slightly different response to this. While, I think HSUS is anathema to dog fanciers, I won’t be driven underground by them. A point of fact is the horse is already out of the barn. It is virtually impossible for dog breeders to hide from the public eye. I, myself, research dog breeders every day on line. AKC requires that the name of the breeder of every dog be published in the show catalog. Most show superintendents publish this information. Then there are all the electronic magazines dedicated to the fancy and even my very own site.

I have a much more confrontational style. I welcome any legitimate buyer’s complaint. They should have the right to take a dispute to a disinterested third party. However, should anyone take a fraudulent complaint to a government entity, I will sue the pants off of them. I think HSUS has given us the stick to beat them with. If they are party to a spurious complaint, they can be sued as well. If it’s trouble they’re wanting, I’m willing to give them plenty.

I do think contacting these targeted agencies and telling them that the HSUS generated complaint forms are a platform for defrauding the watchdog agencies could cause lots of problems for HSUS.

I’m not an attorney, but I’ve hired a few in my day. ;-)

  3. Hi Billy, Thanks for your perspective. :-)

I merely wanted to point out that there are those out there that will see this "narc" program as a way to cause harm to breeders, any breeder.

I would love to see the HSUS get in deep doggie doo...wonder what we all could do to cause them some trouble ?? I, for one, would like to see the practice of listing addresses in catalogs, etc, done away with. In this day and age, you can't be too careful.

I've hired a few lawyers in my day too :-)

  4. I happen to be a dog owner who gets my puppies from a breeder. I would never buy from a pet store as you never know what your getting and you can not see the parents. I do not agree with this new issue. If I have ever had a problem I have always been able to go straight to the breeder. And that is the way it should be. Are they (HSUS) trying to put the good breeders out of business or make people turn to pet stores or puppy mills? With out the Good Breeders would we be having dog shows or champions? How about the working dogs for instance the seeing eye dogs. If it weren't for the breeders we would not have good service dogs. Lets think people before we ruin a good thing!!!!!!

  5. Our ultimate goal has to be to discredit HSUS: credibility is where their money comes from and why lawmakers listen to them. But too many people don't believe they are anti-pet.

This 'turn in a breeder' campaign can help us do that. Print out a copy of the form and show it to selected 'doubters,' both in the fancy and among the smarter class of lawmakers.

  6. The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) is not a humane society, has no shelters, does not rescue dogs nor adopt them out to new owners.

Their aim, as is PETA's, is to remove all companion animals from people. They have taken aim at legitimate breeders, show dog people, because we are so easy to find. Their onerous dog laws -- mostly of the MANDATORY SPAY & NEUTER variety -- if carried to their logical extremes would result in no more dogs.

They were affiliated with ALF & ELF, both organizations who went to dog shows and opened crates and released dogs "so they could have their freedom." Never mind that the dogs might run onto a highway and be killed.

A couple of PETA workers were arrested and convicted of cruelty after going to a REAL humane society, obtaining 20 or so dogs to be taken back to "their shelter" for adoption, but instead killing all of them and dumping the bodies in a dumpster behind a supermarket.

The kill rate in a PETA "shelter" runs 95-98%. Apparently a few dogs accidentally get adopted.

The problem is, PETA and HSUS have become the darlings of Hollywood, and even of Pres. Obama himself, so they have tons of money and real, solid political power.

They are sinister, evil organizations bent upon taking our dogs (and cats and farm animals and food animals) away from us.

  11. Well, I have always heard 'Turnabout is fairplay" Why not turn in HSUS and PET in to the IRS. I suspect that, since they do damn little to actually spend the millions of dollars people donate to them, they are probably in violation of their non-profit status. How about getting them audited by the Feds

    ReplyDelete
  12. You people are real idiots. PETA and HSUS are NOT rescue organizations or shelters. They never claimed they were. EVER. They are and always have been organizations whose main purpose is to EDUCATE people and save animals from being abused and exploited.

For all you fur wearing, meat eating morons...YOU are contributors/supporters of abuse and exploitation. Where did ANY of you ever get the notion that animals were here for you to do as you damned well please with ?? Having the ability to think and reason ( which it seems NONE of you are really capable of) does NOT give you the right to kill, use or eat ANY being that is beneath you. You are NOT Cro-Magnon man...you do NOT need fur to survive the elements. You DO NOT need meat or need to hunt in order to survive because you don't know how to plant crops for food. You all contribute to the destruction of the environment, you obviously have NO compassion whatsoever for animals....you eat and wear them !! You're a bunch of sorry ass losers who can't stand to admit that you are CARELESS, IGNORANT, ABUSERS and EXPLOITERS of innocent lives that you could give a damned about.

PETA and HSUS may do some crazy things that not everyone agrees with but then again they don't do it for US... they do it for those who are abused, exploited and cannot defend themselves. You must be really proud of yourselves to think you have the "upper hand" over all life forms beneath you. You're sick and pathetic. All of you.

  13. I think this process is another attempt by HSUS to masquerade as a law enforcement agency and I'll be sending a letter this week to the IRS asking how this 'service' and suggested means of enforcement against breeders is in compliance with HSUS's tax exempt status.
I'll also be filing a complaint with real LE agencies whose jurisdiction HSUS falls under and the Attorney General's office for clear misrepresentation of law enforcement and judicial powers.
FIGHT BACK people, they want you to hide over things like this. FIGHT BACK.

  16. Thats fine and dandy that they are tring to protect buyers from bad breeders but who are protecting the breeders?I really dont see this group helping anyone at all. I have been a breeder for many years and never seen anything like this at all,It looks to me that this group are aiming for people to go to pet stores, So who do they go after when that pet store dog gets sick and the owner is not happy>Come on people wake up and smell the coffee this is just crazy these people have no knowledge at all.

  17. A Letter from a Shelter Manager:

I think our society needs a huge " Wake-up" call.

As a shelter manager, I am going to share a little insight with you all. ..a view from the inside if you will.

First off, all of you breeders/sellers should be made to work in the "back" of an animal shelter for just one day.

Maybe if you saw the life drain from a few sad, lost, confused eyes, you would change your mind about breeding and selling to people you don't even know. That puppy you just sold will most likely end up in my shelter when it's not a cute little puppy anymore.

So how would you feel if you knew that there's about a 90% chance that dog will never walk out of the shelter it is going to be dumped at? Purebred or not! About 50% of all of the dogs that are "owner surrenders" or "strays" that come into my shelter are purebred dogs.

    The most common excuses I hear are;

"We are moving and we can't take our dog (or cat)." Really? Where are you moving to that doesn't allow pets and why did you choose that place instead of a pet friendly home?

Or they say "The dog got bigger than we thought it would". How big did you think a German Shepherd would get?

"We don't have time for her". Really? I work a 10- 12 hour day and still have time for my 6 dogs!

"She' s tearing up our yard". How about making her a part of your family?

They always tell me: "We just don't want to have to stress about finding a place for her we know she'll get adopted, she's a good dog."

Odds are your pet won't get adopted & how stressful do you think being in a shelter is? Well, let me tell you, your pet has 72 hours to find a new family from the moment you drop it off. Sometimes a little longer if the shelter isn't full and your dog manages to stay completely healthy. If it sniffles, it dies.

Your pet will be confined to a small run/kennel in a room with about 25 other barking or crying animals. It will have to relieve itself where it eats and sleeps.

It will be depressed and it will cry constantly for the family that abandoned it.

If your pet is lucky, I will have enough volunteers in that day to take him/her for a walk. If I don't, your pet won't get any attention besides having a bowl of food slid under the kennel door and the waste sprayed out of its pen with a high-powered hose.

If your dog is big, black or any of the "Bully" breeds (pit bull, rottie, mastiff, etc) it was pretty much dead when you walked it through the front door. Those dogs just don't get adopted.

It doesn't matter how 'sweet' or 'well behaved' they are. If your dog doesn't get adopted within its 72 hours and the shelter is full, it will be destroyed.

If the shelter isn't full and your dog is good enough, and of a desirable enough breed it may get a stay of execution, but not for long.

Most dogs get very kennel protective after about a week and are destroyed for showing aggression. Even the sweetest dogs will turn in this environment.

If your pet makes it over all of those hurdles chances are it will get kennel cough or an upper respiratory infection and will be destroyed because shelters just don't have the funds to pay for even a $100 treatment.

Here's a little euthanasia 101 for those of you that have never witnessed a perfectly healthy, scared animal being "put-down".. ..

First, your pet will be taken from its kennel on a leash. They always look like they think they are going for a walk - happy, wagging their tails.

Until, they get to "The Room", every one of them freak out and put the brakes on when we get to the door. It must smell like death or they can feel the sad souls that are left in there, it's strange, but it happens with every one of them.

Your dog or cat will be restrained, held down by 1 or 2 vet techs depending on the size and how freaked out they are.

Then a euthanasia tech or a vet will start the process. They will find a vein in the front leg and inject a lethal dose of the "pink stuff".

Hopefully your pet doesn't panic from being restrained and jerk. I've seen the needles tear out of a leg and been covered with the resulting blood and been deafened by the yelps and screams.

They all don't just "go to sleep", sometimes they spasm for a while, gasp for air and defecate on themselves.

When it all ends, your pet's corpse will be stacked like firewood in a large freezer in the back with all of the other animals that were killed waiting to be picked up like garbage.

What happens next? Cremated? Taken to the dump? Rendered into pet food? You'll never know and it probably won't even cross your mind. It was just an animal and you can always buy another one, right?

I hope that those of you that have read this are bawling your eyes out and can't get the pictures out of your head I deal with everyday on the way home from work.

I hate my job, I hate that it exists & I hate that it will always be there unless you people make some changes and realize that the lives you are affecting go much further than the pets you dump at a shelter.

Between 9 and 11 MILLION animals die every year in shelters and only you can stop it. I do my best to save every life I can but rescues are always full, and there are more animals coming in everyday than there are homes.

My point to all of this: DON'T BREED OR BUY WHILE SHELTER PETS DIE!

Hate me if you want to. The truth hurts and reality is what it is.

I just hope I maybe changed one person's mind about breeding their dog, taking their loving pet to a shelter, or buying a dog.

I hope that someone will walk into my shelter and say "I saw this and it made me want to adopt." THAT WOULD MAKE IT WORTH IT!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Well a RESPONSIBLE BREEDER sells all dogs with a contract. That contract should say all dogs are to be returned to the breeder for any reason and for the entire life of the dog. The breeder is also co-owner of the dogs and the dogs are sold on a limited registration!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Your shelter sounds like a sad place. At the shelter that I volunteered with for five years there were rarely pure breeds for very long. Most breed clubs have rescue groups that we contacted and they would come and take the dogs. Unless they had failed their behavior exams. Even then.. it took a team of people to give the thumbs down on a dog. However, your right about working the back room.. it sucks big time for the people that have to do that. But in my experience most all of the souls that were set free there did not come from ethical breeders and had issues that made them unsafe in our world.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Dear Shelter Manager - NONE of my puppies are in your shelter, or any other shelter. All my puppies are microchipped. All my puppies go on a "must return to me" contract. Any age for any reason. Even if the owner needs to have an elderly dog euthanized for illness and can't face it. I will lovingly shepherd that puppy of mine into the next realm.

And - every breeder I know does the same thing. We scour the internet and local shelters to make sure that our breed is not in attendence. We rescue and rehome regardless of who is the breeder.

When you buy a puppy from us you get lifetime support and assistance.

Want to send someone back to the rear of the shelter to watch euthanasia in action - how about the careless consumer? The disposable diva who decides that her carpet is more important that the dog. The impetuous buyer who can't be bothered learning anything about training or canine behavior? Puleeeze. Stop the impulse buying, the backyard breeding, the pet store sales, the high-volume breeders. But dont EVEN suggest that I am part of the problem.

    ReplyDelete
  21. HERE we go....shelter people spreading lies again.
    1. Killing too many dogs leads to brain damage in shelter workers.

    2. Get the numbers right. There are not 9 or 10 million killed. About 50% of that.

    3. Quit using breeders as an excuse for shelter dogs dying. Majority of killed shelter animals are those purchased at no to low cost (0-$100),mixed breed male juveniles 1-2.5yr, w/little+no behavior training, of med-large breed, whose breeds have been demeaned+defiled in the media by YOU animal extremists.

    4. Your shelter, rescue+re-homed animals have inflicted fatal attacks at a 500% more likely to do so rate than non re homed dogs.

    5. Shelters are often not cared for properly, disease is not controlled, and dogs die from disease more than you killing 'em in many cases, just see Los Angeles with the MSN law and the big laughable "no-kill" that is a joke because they never tried to even implement it correctly, nor lay the proper foundation.

    6. Your crap about "it's breeders" show you have no knowledge of what you even do. Pet stores are only 2% source of dogs, and they almost never go to shelters. Purebreds w/good temperamanents almost never go there; and if they do, they are slated to be killed due to bad temperament, and you shelter idiots save the dog, then sell it and it kills someone 10 days later, which dog was on PETFINDER.

Wake up and realize all the rationalizations in the world doesn't change the bitter truth. Oh, but you can't handle truth.

    ReplyDelete
  22. You people, along with PETA need to get a grip.
What about all of the good breeders and pet owners in the world. Apparently we don't count.

Maybe you should find another more important cause to get involved with, like the Fur Farms in China for example.

    ReplyDelete
  23. There is another threat from extremists: attacking hobby breeders and show people because they also volunteer at rescues and shelters! yes, that is right! I'm familiar with a situation in Maryland where somone who has dedicated her life to rescuing dogs is being libeled and attacked on the web because she also, in her OWN HOME, has show dogs!

    ReplyDelete
  24. uhm, have these morons realized that what their ultimate goal is would be animal extinction, not liberation? where are these liberated animals going? no one can own them! no one would be breeding them!

they should spend their time and money worrying about wildlife and the extinction of such by people overpopulation and the loss of large tracts of wildlands and farms to subdivisions and big box stores.

    ReplyDelete
  25. HSUS is PET EXTINCTION. Period. Where are those "liberated animals" going? no one can own them. there would be no more breeders. they are animal haters. And what's more, I sure don't see them adopting animals out of shelters and giving them a good home, because they don't believe animals should go to home. so...they will be murdered. Just like the bully breed ban they are trying to push in Montana. All bullys are to be put to death. you cannot move to montana and keep anything that remotely resembles any bully breed. you have to prove it's not a bully when they come to seize your dog and put it to death within 10 days. the "humane" SUS put such a law into place in Colorado and so far FOUR THOUSAND INNOCENT DOGS HAVE BEEN MURDERED.

So don't get on here and pretend you give a rats patooty about animals. You don't. HSUS hates animals, they want them to be put to death and no more to ever be bred.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Oh you poor shelter worker that hates your job. Here's some advice- QUIT

Perhaps a prerequisite for working the "backroom" of a shelter is that one is a member of PeTA since they have no qualms about putting an animal down.

    ReplyDelete
  27. All the bleeding heart people got horse slaughter shut down. I think they all need to have all those unwanted, unmanageable horses in their pristine backyards. Now they are working on eliminating dogs from every household.
I have been on both sides of the fence. I did work at an animal shelter and the my main job was euthanizing many dogs and cats every day. I called rescue and breed groups to pick up specific breds and most were picked up. Overall the pets that are PTS were a variety of mixed breeds and there were some purebreds. There are some that NEED to be Euthanized.
I then went to work for veterinarians for quite a few years. I have seen the puppy mill breeders and the ethical breders, there is a BIG difference.
I decided that I wanted to show dogs again and had one hell of a time getting any breeder to sell me a dog. I did finally get something that I thought was quality enough for me. I could not have found this dog at a shelter.
I also raise horses and have for over 40 years. The AR people have done much damage to the horse industry and they don't even have a clue to the reality of owning a horse. They all think every horse is like Trigger. Reality check, there is no place for all the horses to go now, so they haul them to Mexico and Canada for slaughter. Mexico has no USDA regulation, so it is not a good place to go. But THANK-YOU to the AR idiots, you are now responsible for extreme suffering of horses and ponies from the US getting a one-way ticket to Hell.
Now that the AR's have gotten the horse slaughter stopped, they will put all their efforts into stopping all dog breeding.
It is time that the people take a stand against the animal rights activists. Oh yes, I eat meat and wear leather boots.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I was a shelter manager for 5 years. I currently own 3 rescue dogs that I compete in AKC obedience & Rally with. I put more than my share of animals to sleep, more than I can count actually. The euthanazia numbers are dropping - that is a fact. That being said, my next dog will likely be from a breeder, by choice obviously. Responsible breeders are a blessing, they take their dogs back regardless of age and condition, and often rescue others of their breed. Give the whole DO NOT PURCHASE WHILE DOGS DIE IN SHELTERS thing a break already. The majority of pure breds I saw in the shelters were like mine - Petland rejects, or from backyard breeders.
I for one, will never breed - I consider it a big responsibility (as everyone should), but those who do it responsibly (genetic testing, OFA, CERF, etc), should NOT be harassed and tormented.

  29. Dear Shelter Worker and Mr/Ms Anonymous:

I am purebred guardian. Note that I did not say owner. I have spent a considerable amount of time doing volunteer work in a shelter which included assisting in putting down hundreds of dogs and cats. Number 1: You are suffering from kennel shock. Take a break and get some help. Number 2: The only animals that went nuts as you describe in my experience were feral cats. I assume you know what a control stick is and the requirement for welder's gloves dealing with those little darlings. As for domesticated critters we took great care to sooth and comfort the critters as we did what had to be done. Number 3: Yes there were tears. It's never easy but it is reality.

Now for anonymous. I am fascinated that you posted anonymously. Says something about you I think. Bravo to the blog owner for outing you.

Now for my philosophy. Ted Nugent for President :) I have on leather boots and a leather belt as I type. I love a nice marbled rare ribeye. I cook my dog a batch of chickens every week to mix with her kibble. My cats love it too. You see we have this little thing called a food chain. Humans are at the top. Critters ain't. Sorry. That damn reality thing again.

Now with that great power comes great responsibility. Nod to Stan Lee. I am responsible for my critters and they are perfectly happy with the great care they receive. And yes they have said so if you only had the brains to take the time to listen. As for animal slaughter houses I believe they should be as humane as possible, given the fact that we are slaughtering them of course. I have no problem throwing some sadistic bone head in jail on animal abuse charges if he doesn't follow humane procedures. But we will always have meat eaters like me in the population. Always. So make efforts to make the process as humane as possible. But as for eliminating meat eaters or saying we don't have the right to kill to eat? Sorry.

    ReplyDelete
  30. It's funny that these 'sheler workers' do nothing but whine and complain and blame the public.

Animals are dying in shelters because people in shelters are killing them.

Very few purebred animals end up at shelters, not that they'd know the difference. Sometimes if I need a laugh I cruise shelter sites and check out their breed attributions.

Not one breeder I know would let a dog sit in a shelter any longer than it would take to pick him up. And yeah, they always take their dogs back = one friend just took one back at age 14.

It's been calculated that there are about 1 million more homes available each year than there are dogs to fill them. Interestingly, that's the number of adoptable animals killed in 'shelters' each year.

Teh AR stupid, it burns.....I also love the way the Peta flying monkeys assume all of us wear fur, eat meat, etc. As if that is a way to elevate themselves.

btw Peta registers itself as a shelter with the State of Virginia but there's pressure to redesignate them as a slaughterhouse.

Maybe if the HSUS took the misleading 'humane society' out of its name and revealed its true agenda, I'd have some respect for the org.

I guess you guys saw the post at BDS about how the Hsux is using rent-a-cops to answer the 'dogfighting' hot line?

    ReplyDelete
  31. I think it is very interesting that PETA and HSUS call themselves protectors of animals, when all they do is put them down. To the shelter workers on here, get a grip, most of the dogs in the shelters are NOT purebred dogs. I know quite a few breeders and ALL have contracts that will take the dog back, regardless of age and find it a good home. Its not the reputible breeders that are causing a problem, but the people that own mixed breeds that let them run free and breed at will. In the state where I live there is a leash law for dogs and cats. Everyday I see numerous cats running free, but yet the animal control people pick on the dog owners. Something isn't right.

  32. I feel very sad for the HSUS/PETA folks who have swallowed the koolaid and believe we are wallowing in superiority over animals. I have had companion animals my entire 52 years. For the past 4 I have had the extreme pleasure of working WITH a lovely dog, forming a partnership of cooperation to participate in several activities. We have had many adventures and will keep working together for more. My cat is a most accomplished hunter yet she continues to come in my home and sleep in my bed. Do or did any of these anti-pet people ever have a dog or cat, a gerbil or bunny? I pity them for not experiencing the joy and peace that comes with sharing ones life with animals. I absolutely do not consider myself superior nor do I attempt to dominate. We coexist and cooperate. They might want to try that.

  33. Animals are dying in shelters...not because of BREEDERS but because of PEOPLE who have lousy excuses to dump their "beloved pet" : moving, new furniture... and even ... the dog runs too much in the house and scratches my wood floors..ETHICAL BREEDERS screen potential owners and have return or buy back guarantees...
AND as far as the myth tha uncontrollable breeding my BREEDERS is why there are animals in shelters:
"Uncontrolled breeding is no longer the primary
reason dogs and cats end up in shelters, and
has been replaced with a pet retention
problem. A 1991 study from Tufts found that
87.8% of female dogs were spayed and 91.5%
    of female cats were spayed"

Damn it makes me angry when PITA types replace facts with emotional fiction in the attempt to sway people from logical thinking and facts to emotional nonsense..

    Just my 2cents....

  34. Want to do something constructive contact the IRS about HSUS
Even better, send it to the Dept. of Justice as well: www.usdoj.gov
We urge the Attorney General's Office and the U.S. Dept. of Justice to immediately investigate the Humane Society of the United States (herein referred to as "HSUS") for criminal activities including but not limited to conspiracy, racketeering, domestic terrorism and treason during wartime against the United States and for violation of their own charter by influencing legislation and elections.

    FACTS
    1) HSUS's California charter was revoked in 1992 by the State of California Attorney General's Office for illegal fund-raising activities.
    2) According to an ongoing investigation by the Louisiana Attorney General, the HSUS has received $30 Million in direct donations for Hurricane Katrina animals.
    3) HSUS co-conspirators fraudulently misappropriated tax sheltered donations of a nonprofit organization violating the American Disabilities Act.
    4) HSUS promotes the use of the "humane raised" label used by farm animal producers. A fee is illegally assessed for this service, as the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) is the only regulatory agency permitted by law (Titles 7 and 15 USC) to inspection or label any food items.
    5) HSUS, along with Farm Sanctuary and other non-profit and for-profit entities, have conspired to cause illegal restraint of free trade.
    6) Under Title 18 CHAPTER 105 SABOTAGE, Section 2152 - Livestock are second in importance as war materials and defense materials only to guns and ammunition. HSUS is guilty of interfering with the raising of livestock and therefore is guilty of sabotaging national defense materials.
    7) California Prop 2 also violates State of California Penal Code Section 186.2 which defines "prosecuting agency" as ONLY the district attorney or the attorney general in violation of California's Title 15.33. Public Protection.
    8) HSUS has supported and participated in attempts to implement laws restricting ownership and use of dogs and cats within the state of California and other states.

    CONCLUSION
The listed fraudulent activities of the HSUS encompass the Seven Elements of RICO: (1) that a defendant (2) through the commission of two or more acts (3) constituting a "pattern" (4) of "racketeering activity" (5) directly or indirectly invests in, or maintains an interest in, or participates in (6) an "enterprise" (7) the activities of which affect interstate or foreign commerce. 18 U.S.C. § 1962 (a) – (c).

HSUS's California charter was revoked in 1992 by the State of California Attorney General's Office for illegal fund-raising activities. Yet, they are now freely fund-raising in California hosting banquets with $50,000 plates while committing intra and interstate mail and internet fraud soliciting participation and donations. The stated purpose of these activities at present is to Promote California Proposition 2 (Standards for Confining Farm Animals Initiative Statute).

According to an ongoing investigation by the Louisiana Attorney General, the HSUS has received $30 Million in direct donations for Hurricane Katrina animals. It is reported that 10,000 animals were rescued yet only 2,300 pets were reunited with their owners. Clearly the funds were not spent for their stated purpose. We urge the Attorney General to investigate where the monies sent by Californians for Katrina and Rita victims went as well as how these funds may have been used illegally to perpetuate legislation and racketeering activities within the State of California.

For the purpose of promoting Proposition 2, HSUS has conspired with and utilized individuals, including associates, employees and executives to infiltrate other key non-profit organizations within California to gain support and financial benefit at the expense of the mission, reputation and financial security of the infiltrated organizations. continued

    ReplyDelete
  35. Continued -One example is how two key associates entered the top two positions at San Francisco SPCA. The SF SPCA hosted the HSUS rally for Prop 2 and without board approval, stated the SF SPCA supported the measure. Soon after, funds bequeathed directly to the world famous Hearing Dog Program were fraudulently misappropriated to a for-profit making venture while the actual program was abruptly terminated violating the American Disabilities Act. A personnel and morale crisis has erupted at SF SPCA due to these illegal actions. This misappropriation of tax sheltered donations also begs for investigation by the Internal Revenue Service and the Attorney General's Office.
HSUS promotes the use of the "humane raised" label used by farm animal producers. A fee is illegally assessed for this service, as the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) is the only regulatory agency permitted by law (Titles 7 and 15 USC) to inspection or label any food items. The HSUS coerces entire industries and associations who do not comply with the requirements of the "human raised" label by issuing threats of legal and legislative action. These animal producers can fall prey to liens and fines levied illegally as HSUS aggressively pursues legislative efforts to allow private investigative agencies such as themselves and associates the ability to seize both animals and real and personal property. This is a blatant violation of Constitutional statutes which state that no law shall be made which bestows police powers upon private entities nor shall any law be enacted that directly benefits a private entity.
The HSUS is utilizing technologically manipulated video footage of a slaughterhouse operation to fraudulently portray Prop 2's value to the public, even though Prop 2 would have no bearing or issue on slaughterhouse operations.
HSUS, along with Farm Sanctuary, Mercy for Animals and other non-profit and for-profit entities, have conspired to cause illegal restraint of free trade. This includes but is not limited to the regulation of production and sale of eggs. This violates the Sherman Anti-Trust Act, the California Agricultural Codes, and the Federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act: Title 18 Sec 1962. (HSUS uses people, groups, and corporations which conspire to meet and use threat, fear, intimidation and extortion to close a competitor or a commercial business down.)
Under Title 18 CHAPTER 105 SABOTAGE, Section 2152 - Livestock are second in importance as war materials and defense materials only to guns and ammunition. The places where chickens are raised are defined by law as war premises and national defense premises. All those personnel on aircraft carriers eat eggs every morning, and animal proteins for lunch and dinner. Anyone who interferes with the raising of livestock is therefore guilty of sabotaging national defense materials. Anyone who restricts or prevents one American citizen from spending one dollar on one dog, cat, chicken, or pigeon is committing domestic terrorism, as no one has the power to regulate these Title 7 sec. 2 agricultural commodities except the U.S. Congress. Continued

    ReplyDelete
  36. continued 3 -Should Prop 2 be instituted, the most effective methods of egg production will be eliminated leaving those farmers who are able to use the free range method to create a monopoly. The consumer and the public at large will be grossly affected negatively as will all public institutions such as schools, hospitals, nursing homes as well as private suppliers to both active military and reserves.
Prop 2 also violates State of California Penal Code Section 186.2 which defines "prosecuting agency" as ONLY the district attorney or the attorney general. It violates Title 15.33. Public protection "The primary purpose of Section 1 to 7 of this title which inhibits any combination or conspiracy, whatever its form, having injurious effects upon the competitive system, and providing public and private remedies for injuries flowing from restraint on the competitive system, was more effective protection of public from evils of such restraints."

These activities encompass the Seven Elements of RICO:
    (1) that a defendant (2) through the commission of two or more acts (3) constituting a "pattern" (4) of "racketeering activity" (5) directly or indirectly invests in, or maintains an interest in, or participates in (6) an "enterprise" (7) the activities of which affect interstate or foreign commerce. 18 U.S.C. § 1962 (a) – (c).

HSUS has also supported and participated in attempting to implement laws in California to restrict ownership and use of dogs and cats, allow the confiscation of the animals as well as both real and personal property without due process (SB 1775 and AB 1634), and to deliberately impede the constitutional right to a fair trial. We would like to know: Who died and appointed HSUS Dictator over all free people and their private property in the U.S.???

We, therefore, respectfully request an investigation be opened immediately on both State and Federal levels to ascertain the legitimacy of the method in which Prop 2 was moved to position on the California November ballot as well as all other activities of HSUS, Farm Sanctuary and their associates. We also respectfully request immediate prosecution and incarceration for all the offenders.

    Respectfully,

  37. Hi, it seems one of the annonimous guys is a bit stuck on himself and his way of life. I chose my way and wouldn't push it on anyone. I prefer veggie's but thats me. I love animals as my friends. They always show love and kindness things I can't find in humans-- unconditional love. When I come home I get greeted and hugged by my dog companions. They never complain that my cooking is bad, they never say -- Gee I don't like this channel. They are always friendly and happy. I wouldn't want to live without them. I believe I'd find the world an empty place or atleast very lonely. I'm not a bar kindof person and I am not interested in meeting anyone thru the computor. I'm quite happy here at home with my dogs. They make life bearable. If only PETA and HSUS could see the world through true dog/ pet lovers eyes (insted of vegaterianism's eyes) and see the fact that man has had the company of pets for thousands of years. I mean even the bible said that dogs were licking the wounds of a leppar. Even God saw that humans and animals have a bond. What a glorious thing !!!! These groups need to not push their opinions on others.
    Truthfully,
    Gina

  38. Dear Shelter Manager,

I actually have worked inside a shelter. A humane society. I will tell you this. If they were inspected by the USDA or the Missouri department of ag. They would be written up and most likely closed down. It was filthy. and I did not see much of anything but non descript mutts. which are never bred by breeders. Very few purebreds.

With all the non descript mutts spayed and neutered ever wonder where all these dogs come from???

Shelter manager I highly doubt you are what you claim. You just seem to be vomiting the normal propaganda lies you lemmings are fed by the AR movement.
The breeds I breed are so sought after that freaks like your kind ,will do anything to get their hands on them to resell in your used puppy factories.
I too want to see the end of animal abuse. I feel to do this all rescues and shelters should be held under the same standards as USDA kennels. Minimum standards should apply to all rescues, and all shelters, all breeders. To prevent hoarding, and abuse and neglect.
I also volunteered to groom dogs from rescues. I am talking sick disgusting filth. and this was after they were in the rescues care 6 months after I first groomed them.
I am getting tired of hoarders, and sociopathic, socially retarded, protein starved freaks trying to project their wrong doings, and sick fantasies on innocent breeders. Who do not contribute to canine over population. What does that, is all your importing, and breeding of dogs on your 33,000 square acre Satanic ranch.

The lies spun and believed by the Ar moment can only be compared to double speak in George Orwell's 1984.
You people are pawns of the demented. Those who wish to see society in ruins. Ever wonder why the most extreme of you freaks wishes to see 1/3 of the earths human population killed? Doesn't that give you a clue that the Animal Rights activist are insane?

Your shelter does not sound humane at all and in my book should be closed down. I have assisted putting animals down and it does not happen like that unless who is holding the animal is a mean brute.

Kennel cough and URI dogs put down is a shame. for all the dogs, and society. Feline Leukemia vaccine helped find the cure for juvenile leukemia in children. A real study on Kennel cough and URI's may possibly help find a cure for the common cold. But instead you freaks senselessly kill them. And use your money to create more propaganda lies. And import dogs from third world countries to keep yourselves in business of killing more animals.

Face it.t is all about the money and recruiting socially retarded people to type outlandish fanatic lies. So more people who do not have time to have aq clue. Feel sorry and feed you people more money.

All the breeders in America show, commercial, BYB and the bad ones cannot even come close to the abuse, neglect that rescues and shelters put animals through.

    Reread your post shelter manager.
No kennel even the most dirty and uninformed that you would call a puppy mill. Is going to purposely and knowingly keep animals in the conditions you just described.
Animals thrown together in packs that drive them so insane the become what Kennel crazy?
Then cleaned with a high powered fireman type hose.
Get hit by that hose I am sure it is frightening and painful.
Killed because they contracted a self eliminating common cold. Because they are in such neglectful horrible care.
The taken to a horror room. To be brutally and senselessly murdered. What you described is dog hell. And you call breeders bad?? I say lets close down all these horrible hell shelters.

  40. You asked "What would YOU do if the HSUS came-a-knockin' on your door?"

Meet them at the door with gun in-hand - Ohio has a castle law that allows me to shoot with intent to kill if I am protecting my house and family. My dogs are my family and if HSUS or PETA came to my house, the would be eating lead if they didn't leave... quickly!

  41. Melissa - you sound like an animal rights activists putting the lives of animals above the lives of humans (also, fyi, the law in ohio would disagree with you and you would be viewed no differently than a gang banger gunning down someone on the street)
